Finding Real-World Advice Of Labrador Retriever Breeders

Adorable Labrador Retriever Puppies

Let’s talk about how to pick out the best Labrador Retriever puppy.  Most of the time, when picking out a lab puppy, there are going to be bunches of puppies all together. Labradors have anywhere from six to twelve puppies at a time, and so there will be a lot to look at.

The biggest things for lab puppies, is they are an energetic breed. They’re great family dogs, they are very interactive with people, so that’s the way a puppy should be. You always want to look for a BAR type of puppy, which is bright, alert, and responsive.

They need to be coming up to you, wagging their tail. They need to be happy, interactive puppies. If you’re looking at a puppy who is very subdued, withdrawn, fearful, that’s not a good family pet usually, so basically looking at their overall appearance is good.
The next thing is, just look at their appearance. Do they have discharge coming from their nose, their eyes? Are they coughing, wheezing? Do they look underweight, or anything like that, like they could be very parasitic?
All these things are going to be pretty evident in a lot of puppies. If they’re bouncing around, and are bright, alert, and responsive, then usually, that’s a good interactive animal, and labs generally make wonderful pets.
